The present Southport Magic Circle was formed in November 1985.
Southport Magic Circle consists of both professional and semi-professional magicians, clowns and magic enthusiasts all over the age of 18 years. The main aim of the Circle is to promote the art of magic by teaching magic enthusiasts who have some prior knowledge of the art.
Southport Magic Circle also serves the public by giving talks and performing shows for many private venues, schools, garden parties, fêtes and charity fundraising events.
The Sparkle Award is won by the member who aids the Club the most throughout the year, and is decided by a democratic vote by all members at the Annual General Meeting.
The Eric Seddon Award is a competition of magic set by the previous year’s winner, which is voted on by all members.
